This original tour, starting this week, brings a breath of fresh air and positivity to various student campuses in Flanders and Brussels, where temporary plant tattoos will be created. Some lucky participants will even have the chance to get a permanent tattoo. With this initiative, Groen van bij ons aims to highlight the rich flora of our country.
About the Tour
Throughout this special tour, Groen van bij ons invites students to literally and figuratively “flower” themselves. With temporary tattoos featuring plants from our local landscape, students can associate personal characteristics or those of their friends with local plants or flowers.
“By offering temporary plant tattoos, students share much more than just a compliment: they spread inspiration, friendliness, connection, focus, and green energy. In this way, we make students ‘givers,’ because giving flowers or plants brings happiness and joy,” explains Hartwig Moyaert, Head of Horticultural Promotion at VLAM.
A highlight of the tour will be the presence of the Cirusso tattoo collective at one of the stops, where students can get a permanent “flash tattoo*” of their favorite plant or flower to seal their friendships in an original way.
Plants Spread Positive Vibes
The popularity of plant-themed tattoos is well-established. Plants, flowers, and other natural elements attract a broad audience with their aesthetic beauty and symbolic meanings. The tour taps into this appeal by associating each floral tattoo with a personal and unique quality. For instance, optimists may choose a sunflower, while the fashion-forward may opt for a hydrangea.
The concept for this activation was designed and executed by DemonStr8, while Publicis Groupe Belgium handled the conceptualization of social media content, UGC engagement, and public relations campaigns.
