Publicis Groupe, as a Great Place To Work, pushes well-being to the limit, by asking their employees to rest.

In the advertising sector, 82% of people regularly do over-time, leading to high stress levels – and almost ¾ of the people working in advertising are stressed at work.* On top of that 1-in-3 Belgians sleep badly and 20% suffer from chronic insomnia.**
Publicis Groupe Belgium, holders of the certified Great Place To Work label for 2 times in a row, has the last 5 years worked hard on creating a company culture aimed at ‘shaping progress’, for people, brands and the world. Their obsession with all aspects of human welfare makes the company unique.
With this campaign, Publicis Groupe Belgium shows that it has the ambition to create a mental shift in the advertising sector by bringing to life a culture embracing relaxation and rest.
In our sector the balance is leaning towards ‘do’ and ‘go’ and ’24/7′, but that does not benefit people or the work. We want to restore the balance by encouraging our people to always plan in relaxation after an effort. Not an easy task when you know that famous CEOs and world leaders claim that they only need a few hours of sleep. Minimal sleep is seen as ‘cool’ and a sign of success, but Dali, Da Vinci, Einstein, Aristotles and Frida Kahlo proved long ago that rest and breaks lead to ground-breaking ideas. So, it’s crazy that we work ourselves to death and have come to see ‘busy’ as a form of success. It is high time to turn the tide and that is why we call on all our employees to schedule in rest, just like top athletes do.
During the week of November 21, various activities are planned around rest, ranging from a conversation with Olympic champion Bashir Abdi about ‘the value of rest’ to an interactive session with sleep expert Jana Maes, about how you can stop that eternal worrying during the night. Various rest experiences are also planned, yes also massages and relaxing sound sessions. Bliss!
